Question : Hi. I usually drink enough water each day. I've always had up to 12 glasses with no problem. Lately I feel very strange after drinking water. I had to stop, because I would get dizzy. But my pee is very yellow, almost brown, so I know I need to drink more. However, as soon as I drink I become ill. I had a glass a few hours ago and it made me so dizzy I had to lie down. But the world was still spinning even after I laid down. It's been this way for almost a week. Sometimes I feel to pass out and my left hand keeps cramping up. I can't drink water at all. It's making me sick. But at he same time, I'm incredibly thirsty. Throat and lips are parched. I really want to drink something. What's wrong?

Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You need to consult an ENT surgeon and a Gastroenterologist. You may be having any problem in your pharynx and the foodpipe for which you are having giddiness on taking water. Do a routine blood tests, renal function test and liver function test, blood sugar, urine routine examination. If you are feeling that you are yellowish then consult a physician also to rule out jaundice also.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
