                                            Question : Hi,
I was bitten by a dog on September 28 and I took the first dose of anti-rabies vaccine the same day. My second dose was supposed to be taken on October 1. But, due to unavailability of the vaccine, I wasn't able to take my second dose. Now, I have purchased the vaccine. So, the following is my query:
1) I read in a few journals that if you haven't received a minimum of 3 doses of anti-rabies vaccine and there is a deviation in the days of taking them, it is better to start again. Is it true? So, should I start afresh from tomorrow, i.e. October 3?
2) Can you please tell me how do doctors come to the conclusion that 5 dosages need to be taken and on this particular days.
I personally am a little scared and I don't mind starting from the first dose. I hope it doesn't affect my body's capacity to make enough antibody to fight the deadly virus.
Please suggest.

                                    Brief Answer:
ok you can take under doctors guidance
Detailed Answer:
Hi
OK you can take 3 doses from start from tomorrow i.e october 3.
Researchers fix the doses and their duration from research on people and animals during vaccine development.
It will affect your natural immunity, if you take the vaccine repeatedly and unnecessarily.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
