I went for a nap and when I woke up, my skin underneath my knee was red and hot. The redness remained 12 hours later. The foot appears a bit swollen. Should I be concerned

Thank you Doctor. I am a 41 year old male. It feels a little painful if i touch the skin in that area and yes some tenderness. There is some swelling. No muscle pain though. It really feels like a sunburn or a burn

I think this is the calf area you have posted.
With such sudden swelling with skin changes, pain and tenderness I would think about the problems related to DVT, deep vein thrombosis and so on.
Hence I would advise for an urgent Ultrasonography and color doppler of the affected limb and blood tests to know the diagnosis by confirming or ruping out.
Please get this done asap.
