Question : Hi, I would like somebody to take a view at this scanners and let me know his or her feedback. These are CAT scans on the Lung during a hospital visit. The person was diagnosed with pneumonia but does this also shows any abscess?

I also reviewed the attached reports.

Through the reports I don't see the presence of an abscess.

Through the reports we can see changes related to a chronic medical condition.

Some other examinations are needed to help through the diagnosis.

I would recommend the following examinations:

A complete blood count

Sputum culture

Tuberculosis skin test

High resolution CT examination of the chest

Tuberculosis should be excluded as a suspected diagnosis in this case.

These examinations would help to confirm the diagnosis and take proper treatment.
