Question : Hi! I’m a 19 year old girl and I’ve been experiencing debilitating back pain for two years now. I was a competitive gymnast for 16 years and over time started to develop bad lower back pain. I’ve seen many doctors and half of them say there is nothing wrong about my mris and half say I have herniated discs. I am in constant agony and want to find a treatment that works for me. I’ve tried every possible route accent for surgery and I am at a loss.

Brief Answer:
Physical therapy can help. It can be postural.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

The back pain that you have with no problems in the MRI scan be related to posture or muscle spasm or a nerve root irritation.

The various treatments that you have tried are the only ways available to treat this problem. Regular physiotherapy will help you. You can also consult a neurologist to rule out any nerve-related problem.

I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Wishing you good health.

Regards.

Thank you for your response! You reminded me that once a doctor told me my spine was “a little straighter” than he’d like to see. That’s why he thinks when I walk and sit all the pressure presses down on my lower spine. I can’t stand or sit comfortably for more than 5 minutes at a time before I need to switch positions.
