Question: Hi, I’m a 25-year old, very healthy male. Last night I took an adderall (25mg) and then drank 2 Red Bull’s later on in the night. Those are the only 2 substances I had, the rest of the night and into today up until this evening I’ve been super impotent. I’m not particularly stressed. What could be the problem?

Brief Answer:
Several things.

Detailed Answer:
Occaisional problems are quite common---probably everyone. There are several things that are more likely to cause problems. The RELAXATION parts of the autonomic nervous system are involved with getting an erection. Obviously adderall, caffeine, nervousness from these are going to work against that part of the autonomic nervous system.
These also cause dehydration and paradoxically LOWER blood pressure. This is especially true of extremities and the adderall also causes peripheral circulatory clamping down. THe severity of it you can tell just by seeing if the fingers are white and cold. If not, nevermind, not a problem.

These are all very temporary conditions and very UNLIKELY to have an effect the next time you try when there is NOT these drugs in the system. ANd they wear off in 12 hrs or less but the dehydration stays til you re hydrate. There seems to be a XXXXXXX epidemic of dehydration, this is the second call on this tonight (?!?).

Thank you for the detailed response!! So, are you saying it’s a combination of the drugs and not drinking enough water?

Brief Answer:
well... it certainly could be.

Detailed Answer:
It's adderall not IV crystal meth. so, serious necrosis, body parts falling off, etc. just isn't in the realm of possibility.
Then, what can still be there a day afterwards---not the drug which is at most about 12 hrs. Permanent damage, again, no.
So, some (minor) (temporary) consequence is what I'm left with. Dehydration, lack of sleep, a bit of hypoglycemia (that's a bit of a stretch, but if you didn't eat anything for 12 hrs, yeah, that's possible).
And, it's a bit peculiar you're the second person with this today. This makes me wonder if some (minor) thing is going around.

Brief Answer:
cannot predict.

Detailed Answer:
a week would be a bit pessimistic and if it were, with masturbation also, then that's a time to go for professional help.
People get into patterns and this is a well-known one for anxiety after one episode leading to a few more. Practicing on one's own is a pretty standard bit of advice.
