Question : Hi, I’ve been washing my hands a LOT since the coronavirus outbreak and I have now developed a huge red inflamed itchy rash all over my hands (even some white dots on them). Is this from over washing and what can I do to get rid of it as it’s really uncomfortable?

                                    Brief Answer:
Contact dermatitis, topical steroid, moisturising cream, antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and reviewed the attached photograph.
It seems to be contact dermatitis from frequent use of soap and water.
I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and regular application of a moisturising cream containing white soft paraffin on the entire hands 4-5 times in a day.
Topical steroids are prescription drugs and should be taken under the supervision of the doctor.
Also take antihistaminic like tablet chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg twice daily.
Make sure that you apply a moisturising cream on the hands every time you wash your hands.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
