Hi! My Daughter Got Into A Bike Accident Three Weeks

My daughter got into a bike accident three weeks ago, she got road rash on her face. I cleaned it, kept it moist with medicine the scab has fallen off and it red under neath. When will that heal and what should I be doing on my end. I apply sunscreen to that spot eveyday. Should I still use ointment on it, mederma, nothing? Ty for your help

After a road rash, it is normal to have a lightly pigmented skin after the scar falls. It will take some time for the normal coloration of the skin to return. Meanwhile it is best to keep the area protected from direct sun rays, apply a sunscreen and moisturizer regularly. It can take 6-8 weeks to return back to normal. No need to apply the ointment now.
