Question : Hi, My father has tight stiffness of neck and pain on the right side of rib cage. Slight pressing on the the top of the chest above the rib cage or to the right side of body he has pain and is unable to sleep on the right side at night. He is unable to explain whether the pain is inside on the top of his rib cage like muscular pain. He has stiffness on the right side of the neck with pain and is unable to move his head to any side and is only looking straight. He was having this neck stiffness to the left side not its shifted to the right side. He was diagnosed with Bone Tuberculosis around an year back and took full course medication. Currently he is seeing an orthopedist with till now no actual diagnosis as to what is wrong.

Other Issues:

1. He is diabetic but his sugar levels are within control.
2. Also he has heart blockages and is on medication for it including blood thinners.

Tests Done:

1. MRI Spine
2. Bone TB Test
3. Abdomen Ultrasound

I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have gone through the reports and details.

Few details are missing
1. What was the sight for bone tuberculosis
2. X ray Chest PAV
3. MRI of Dorsal Spine.

Still ESR is high - Being Diabetic has more chances of non healing or delayed healing of any injury or Infection. Could be resistant tuberculosis.
He has pain mainly on (R) Side of chest and neck- It could be muscular , Osteoporosis or due to congestion in chest.

I suggest
1. MRI Dorsal Spine
2. CT Scan Chest
3. Bone Densitometry - Dexa 2 sites and
4. blood tests for Serum Vitamin D3// Vitamin B12.
