Question : Hi,
They removed the surgical staples 2 days ago, the scar looks big for just fixing the L1 vertebra!
What do you think?
Has it healed nicely and do you think it's too big for just fixing 1 vertebra?
Also there is a black spot on the left of the scare which hurts, I think I it's from the accident.
Your kind help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Stitch line is normal.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The stitch line has healed well. To fix a single vertebra at least three or four vertebrae need to be exposed to fix the screws in them. The incision is not a long one.
The black spot that hurts can be due to a mild soft tissue injury at the time of accident. This should gradually improve in next few weeks.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
