Question : Hi doctor
I needed some health advice from you please.
Growing up I use to masterbate quite frequently it got to a point in my life when I was 13 or 14 and I had discomfort in my rectum could this have been due to frequent masterbation? During the years the pain was always there being a guy I never went to a doctor. I had my CRP check when I was 24 because I was concerned about this pain and I remember once when I was masterbating and I ejaculated it caused me severe pain in my rectum what could this have been?
I was given antibiotics ciprofloxacin 500 and my pain stopped after a few weeks. Also my CRP level has now back to normal and I am now pain free. My questions are
With the infection completing going or whatever it was? Can you say my health has gone back to normal?
Does things like this effect fertility long term? I’m worried in case any tube is now blocked ? What are your thoughts? With everything being normal would blood tests pick up if anything was wrong in this case?
Also I suffer from anxiety and I may need help regarding this

Hi dr XXXXXXX thanks for the reassurance.
In ur time as a urologist.. have people who have suffered from Prostatitis for a number of years ever had any fertility issues?
Also I remember when I had this pain, I did do a urine sample it was negative. Is this the case with prostatits that the urine sample wouldn’t pick it up?
Also how is the prostate made, can it suffer from any damage. And how about fertility tubes has this got anything to do with the pain I was experiencing. I’m guessing damage wouldn’t happen? Or scar tissue? Because the bloods would have picked it up? And the inflammation wouldn’t have cleared.
I will get some help.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Urine may be negative in prostattitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .
Urine may or may not detect infection in Prostatitis .
Prostatitis is very common and it rarely affects fertility unless infection is very severe or longer lasting (Chronic).
Prostate infection does not damage fertility tubes even if infected .Pain during prostatitis is due to inflammation and congestion of prostate .
Thanks and Regards.

Final question is I had this discomfort for years doctor but I didn’t go to the doctor. That’s my worry... if there was lasting damage, would the blood test have picked it up? in the full blood count etc, And inflammatory markers if there was lasting damage?
What would the symptoms of long lasting be? And do you think I have any worry
Thanks sonmuch for answering my questions

Thanks sonmuch for answering my questions
Can I do any blood tests to see if there is any inflammation in my body? That would give me reassurance and piece of mind. Obviously as a urologist can you suggest a few blood tests for ultimate piece of mind.
Also when the doctor checked my prostate as a examination he didn’t find any swelling
Brief Answer:
There is no need to do blood tests at this point of time
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .
In absence of any alarming symptoms or any other health issue there is no rational for doing any blood tests which are bound to be normal.
If very curious you mat do total and Differential WBC count to rule out any infection .
Thanks and Regards.
