Question: Hi, doctor. Just a quick follow up question. Recently went for some botox injections where all injections were placed into a few points in the face/front of ear on face. Since this AO spreads in its intensity, just wondering if u could recommend any trigger points off the face that may be helpful for this condition that may include any points in the head or neck. Thank u so much as always.

Brief Answer:
Intraoral points should be injected as well.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for your questions.

I have read your new question.

Besides the facial points in front of and above the ear, injection points for atypical odontalgia include other intraoral points.

These points are located into the facial papillae of the interdental gingiva, tooth socket left after dental extraction, mucous membrane of the hard palate, subcutaneous tissue of upper lip, etc.

So, if there was an increase in pain intensity, other points mentioned above should be injected.

Discuss with your Doctor these issues.

Hope this helps.
