Hello!

Welcome on - Ask a Doctor - service!

I passed carefully through your concern and would like to explain that your current clinical situation needs special attention through a careful differential diagnosis.

First, a cardiological check up to assure that your heart rhythm doesn't show any abnormality is necessary. For such purpose a resting ECG and potentially an ambulatory ECG monitoring would be sufficient.

In addition a cardiac ultrasound to study the cardiac structure and its functionality is advisable.

If the above turns OK, then other issues should be screened, including:

- complete blood count,
- thyroid hormones level,
- blood electrolytes level,
- liver and renal function tests,
- fasting blood glucose and HbA1C,

Then, if everything results OK, a neurological issue should be sought. a neurological consultation would be recommended.

At the end, if nothing wrong results, an anxiety disorder could be the cause.

Coming to this point, you should discuss with an internist on the above mentioned issues.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of any further questions, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information!

I am glad to hear that all your tests have resulted normal, as we can completely exclude something serious.

Coming to this point I agree with your Doctor on the fact that your symptoms could be related to panic attacks.

In such case, Yoga and meditation would be helpful.

It is also important checking thyroid hormone levels, if you have not already checked them.

Another option would do trying some herbal supplements ( valeriana, passiflora) and see if they improve your situation. This would be another argument in favour of anxiety.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,

So i have asked this many times and many have suggested it as an anxiety..

This happened a year n a half ago . I was weak on legs, constant feeling of fainting, breathlessness, exhausted all the time no matter how much i rest ,constant feeling of this overwhelming fear even in normal conditions. Hands shivering., body feeling like shivering even in resting conditions. I hear my heart beat in my ears while resting only. My stomach keeps on pounding like heart.i do have poor eye sight i see blurry but i dont use specs.does eyesight result in these symptoms? For the last 3 months my head feels like its been pressured. All of sudden i hear a sudden beep in my ear and my body feels like closing out when it happens. I don’t have problems falling asleep.Fortunately i have never fainted. But this condition is really hard for a student like me living alone and studying. And the expenses for doctors are high.

So i have tried blood tests 2 times, ct scan, urine test, i have been taking medicines from mental doctor . Constant 0.4 mg everyday for 2 times.

So i would like to know what should i do not next as because of the language barrier here in japan m really scared if something bad is happening to me.

I do have also tried l theanine magnesium calcium multi vitamins tablets for a week though..after seeing they are nt working i quit taking them..

I feel tired and breathless simply by climbing some stairs. Even i run for 30 secs i have hard heartbeats. Like its going to explode.

My opinion as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

I understand how you feel, but it seems that you have already done a lot of tests and nothing serious is going on.

So, in my opinion, there is no need to perform any additional tests, as all your tests have resulted normal.

I would recommend practicing Yoga and trying sertraline for anxiety.

You should discuss with your Doctor on the above treatment option.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
