Brief Answer:
Kindly answer few questions

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...

I read the history and reviewed the photo you posted.

It seems that there are hypopigmented, mildly scaly, dry xerotic and little shiny patches...The linear band like and two in number. They are on one breast on medial side.

However...It is difficult to comment or advise with the short history. So, I would like to know few things from you regarding the disease.

- Since how long it's present?
- is it itchy?
- is it painful or burning?
- any other site affected?
- any other associated disease?

- what type of lesion is there in your kid?
- is there any symptom?
- what is the age of your kid?
- any other family member got such or another skin disease?
- can you upload the photos of the lesion of your kid?
- If possible, please upload the photos of your lesion from a different angle and from little distance.

Please let me know the answer to the above queries so that I can assist better.
Awaiting your answer..

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Irritant contact dermatitis most probably

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the photos. I reviewed the history and saw the photos. I feel that most probably you and your son might have developed irritant contact dermatitis. And it may be due to contact with some irritants probably in swimming pool.

Do not worry..the lesions may be reduced within few days to few weeks. Apply soothing lotion containing calamine and aloe vera on the lesions. If you have irritation or itching, you may take cetirizine 10 mg tab daily at night. And for your son, 2.5 ml hydroxizine HCL syrup may be given daily at night. Avoid soap bath. And do not go in swimming pool for few months.

I hope I have answered you.

If any other query..you are welcome.

Thanks.

Regards.
