Question : Hi is this a pimple or a Cold sore ? It tingels s bit and have clear fluid. But looks more like pimple and came Today . I ask because i have a 7 week old baby and have heard Cold sores a dangerous to babies so if it is a Cold sore do I need to do something ?

I have gone through your complaints and reviewed the attached photograph.It is not looking like a cold sore. It seems to be a pimple. I don’t think it is dangerous for the baby.

If it turns out to be Cold sore do i need to see a doctor with him Then

you may apply topical antibiotic even if it turns out to be cold sore

Even if it turns out to be cold sore you need to apply a topical antibiotic like Fusidic acid cream on the affected area twice daily for a few days.
Also, please avoid kissing the child till the time it resolves and wash your hands frequently every time before dealing with the child.
