Question: Hi,
ive recently had gastroenteritis and im coming to the end i dont have Diarrhea anymore and my trips to the toilet are alot less but my stomach cramps havent gone. is there anyway to calm them down or just subside them for a while? there not awful and im back at work but there just uncomfortable!

no medication or at the most dicyclomine tablet for spasm.

Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, the stomach cramps are residual to the
effect of intestine infection which was responsible for diarrhea attack at
first instance.

As the frequency of motions are under control, your pain will also be settled within short span of time, but if pain is very uncomfortable ( say beyond 3 out of 10 pain score ), then intake of anti spasmodic medicine as dicyclomine will help to recover best way.

* Otherwise, if you continue to maintain hydration with plenty of liquids and
consume easily digestible food stuffs as organic fresh fruits and avoid
spices ; the pain will be relieved within next 24 hours for sure.
