How Long Should I Wait For Pregnancy Test?

default
Posted on Thu, 10 Oct 2024
Question: Hi, me and my husband are trying for a baby. My last period started on may 1st. And I m due for another period may. 29th. According to the ovulation calculator I ovulated somewhere between the 13th-17th. Which I believe to be true. But for about the past 3 days when I go to the bathroom and wipe there are very faint red spots and only when I wipe. Doesn t seem to b in my urine...?? And I I m feeling cramps. I m confused as to what this is. My periods are always on time, and I ve heard about implantation bleeding. But I m assuming it s to early for that to start. Any answers that might help me understand better, would be greatly appreciated:) thanx!

Brief Answer:
Urine pregnancy test

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Implantation bleeding is small amount of bleeding is also called spotting . It typically occurs about 10 to 14 days after conception, most of times its XXXXXXX red blood, sometimes can present as pinkish discharge due to mixture of uterine / cervical secretions. Implantation bleeding is common and does not indiacate anything serious. It is self limiting needing no intervention. Implantation bleeding is thought to happen when the fertilized egg inavdes the uertine lining, bleeding may sometimes be more than spotting in case, the egg gas invaded the part of uetrine lining which is rich in blood vessel branches.

The description gives idea about it being implatation bleed, it is difficult to ascertain pregnancy as it occurs too early much before the urine HCG levels become detectable. I would recommend you to wait for two more weeks, if you do not have the regular period bleeding, get the urine test done .

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

regards,
