Question : Hi, my husband has been identified with WIDAL -positive, Salmonella O-1:80, Salmonella Typhi H-1:160, Salmonella para typhi AH 1:40 and BH 1:40. Our regular doc has suggested for 3 days injection(name of the injection im not aware) and 7 days of tablets.he had fever from last 4-5 days

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The report is at borderline positive, so it needs to be corelated with presence of symptoms of typhoid. Please let me know if there are symptoms of passing loose stools with pain in abdomen, weakness, headache, etc. How high was fever? Any other symptom or relevant detail. Any other tests done?

Your doctor has probably given prescription for antibiotics for 10 days.
