Question : Hi, my name is Abdulla, I am 26 years old man.
I noticed that there is a round mass or a swelling above my left testicle. It's diameter is 1cm or a little bigger. I think I've noticed it a long time ago but I wasn't paying attention to it or to what it could be.

I'd like to have your advice.

Brief Answer:
An ultrasound would be helpful

Detailed Answer:
Hi Arch,

What you describe could be many things. Is it tender? most likely is a varicocele or a spermatocele, both completely benign conditions. Because testicular cancer must be ruled out, you should have an ultrasound of your testicles.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Hi doctor, Indeed it is tender, in case it is varicocele or a spermatocele, what would be the treatment? or it is just a matter of time and then it will go away? and regarding the ultrasound, these days hospitals don't accept cases other than COVID 19. is it okay if I wait until things get better and hospitals open their doors ?

Brief Answer:
It is OK to wait it out

Detailed Answer:
Hi again XXXXXXX

Typically, you don't have to do anything about spermatocele or varicocele. If it bothers you, you can have it removed with minor surgical procedures performed by a urologist

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.
