I don't have the ultrasound scan or the abdomin report.

I know they told me I don't need a liver transplant. But I do have early stage cirrhosis.

The liver panel usually turns up O.K., but I don't have the bloodwork.

Hi,
Okay.
The first important step in the treatment of alcoholic cirrhosis is abstinence from alcohol. Good that you have stopped drinking alcohol.
Cirrhosis leads to many different complications, the most important of which is development of esophageal varices. You need to undergo EGD scopy to look for esophageal varices. If varices are found, beta blocker medications are to be taken.
You should also be tested for hepatitis B and Hepatitis C infections.
If hepatitis B is negative, you should get vaccinated against this infection.
You are already on liver supportive medications like hepaguard and milk thistle. You can continue taking them.

Dr.R.K.

They tested me for hepatitis a,b,c, I don't have it, which is good. The last time they did an endoscopy they didn't find any varices. I've drunken since those tests but have vowed to stop drinking, hince the 30 days, today actually, I have 1 month. If there is anything else I can do please let me know. Thank you Doctor, for your help.

Hi,
Good to know that you are negative for Hepatitis A, B and C.
You need to get vaccinated against Hepatitis A and B.
If no varices are found during endoscopy, follow up endoscopy should be done every three years.
