Question: Hi sir by mistake I have taken two 5 mg folic acid tablets today is it problem for me because I am 12 weeks completed pregnant

Hello,
Thanks for the query to Ask a doctor panel,
Please do not worry at all, 2 folic acid tabs accidentally taken will not harm the fetus at all. Its safe in pregnancy and occasional double dose doesn't harm the baby.
However , continue the folic acid 5mg from next day as once a day dosage regularly as per antenatal advise by your doctor. folic acid is to be continued for next 2 weeks till 14 weeks of gestation, then iron and calcium supplementation would be added.

Any use of chemical based dyes or any such alternatives are not recommended during first trimester, so better avoid the usage.
