Question : Hi so I have a history of UTI and yeast infections that come and go. My boyfriend told me that about a week ago he started to feel a burning sensation when he urinated and there's this black, thread like substance that's coming out when he pees. After the first time seeing this he stopped wearing anything black for the remainder of the week to see if it was from the clothes but it's still there. Did he get a uti or yeast infection from me and that's what's causing this?

Brief Answer:
Urinary track infection and STD possible

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think he should get tested as soon as possible in order to get treated.
He should do a urine sample analysis and probably an uroculture. Also he can get tested for STD.
Also you should get tested too doing a vaginal smear and STD test.
You can send the results to me to confirm the infection and find possible treatment.

Hope I have answered the question.
