Question : Hi there. I hear a constant buzz/hum in my ears. I have always had ear trouble. It seems to only be on my right side. It makes my whole head feel funny. Would this be fluid in my ear? It goes on for weeks at a time and drives me crazy.
Brief Answer:
vertigo and associated tinnitus can be a cause.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The symptoms and signs are most likely suggestive of vertigo and associated tinnitus.
It is due to minor dysfunction of the balancing mechanism lodged in the inner ear.
Ear infection and fluid in the ear(serous otitis) are very unlikely.
As of now you can try over the counter available drugs like betahistine for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persists you have to consult an ENT specialist and plan for detailed examination which may include position test, otoscopic and sometimes a CT scan.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks
