Hi There I Am Bery Worried And Stressed About A

i am bery worried and stressed about a persistent twitch in my undereye area.
i suffer from stress and anxiety and have amplified in past 2-3 weeks. so im nto sure itd frok this - ive bever had this tyoe of twitch before...
what bothers me, is its like it has its own pulse? rather than a randome come and go twitch!
however, i only noticed this about 5 days ago after i used a dermalneedle under my eyes...? theyre like small little needles used to help with undereye bags and reduce wrinkles... its like a cosmetic treatment, perhaps i did it too hard and has hit a nerve?? im not sure how this could have happened though as i have done it before... and it hasnt ever affected that area.
wht i am finding though, are small random twitches all over my face, and in my shoulder, sometimes in my calves and buttocks too. just small yet all over body twitches. can you help me please????
what could it be?? as there are so many factors - i dont know. but mostly the under eye puls - like twitch is annoying me so much!
im worried itll get worse?
Neurological causes and micronutrients deficiencies should be ruled out
Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to neurological causes due to nerve involvement, which can be idiopathic due to unknown cause or can also be caused by any nerve injury during the injections that you are using. It needs a detailed neurological examination of face and of cranial nerves preferably done by a neurologist. That will help to narrow down the cause.
Brain imaging may not be needed at this stage but if any signs of cranial nerve involvement like Facial nerve or Maxillary or mandibular divisions is suspected then may be needed to be evaluated further. Levels of B12 and folic acid as well Calcium and D3 may also be needed which may present with muscular twitching in some cases and replacement may be needed in that case. Sugar levels as well as Thyroid profile may also be helpful.
Meanwhile avoid using those injections, as some of these may contain botulinum toxin which may cause such twitchings. Products containing caffeine, alcohol etc should be decreased.
Hope this has answered your query. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards
