Hello and thanks for your query.

I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.

You certainly need medications to lower your elevated lipid levels. If statins are not suitable for you in the light of muscle and liver issues, you could be evaluated for other drugs in the class of statins or other classes like newer fibrates, niacin, ezetimibe, colesevelam, torcetrapib, avasimibe, implitapide etc. There must be some drug your present medical history could accommodate. This is best decided from your doctor.

Obesity and GERD go hand in hand. Work on reducing weight a little.

Get alternate help with your depression symptoms, counseling and self help groups.

Let me know if I have missed out any other concern in your question.

Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.

Sincerely,

Dr Sujeet N Charugulla, MBBS, MD
