Steam inhalation is the mainstay of treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.
Let me strongly insist you NOT to use antibiotics since such episodes are usually due to viral and/or allergic cause. Unless due to a bacterial cause, antibiotics have no role.
Please give steam inhalation. That should help.
Regards

                                    Brief Answer:
Steam inhalation is the mainstay of treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Pulmoclear Syrup is safe. However, steam inhalation serves the same purpose and in fact is better. Steam inhalation should help in rendering the cough productive. Give her cetirizine syrup for 2-5 days during such episodes.
