I had unprotected sex 101 days now with someone HIV unknown status, and I was so much worry since that time till now,
Many times tried to go doctor to test and I return I was afraid, but I got many HIV FINGER PRICK RAPID TEST and I was testing each 2 weeks up to date which I completed 101 days which I test negative , the tests as I mentioned its rapid finger prick test also not only one type I use to use many types to make sure all are negative and that’s because of my worried I use to use 3 types or 4 types at the same time ,
I went to a doctor today and I carried the tests I have he took blood from my vain and separate it to get white blood looks like fair red blood I don’t know what its called m and he use it to put in 3 hiv rapid tests and it was all negative and am still worry,
My question is:
100 days is enough for these tests to catch the antibody in the blood?
Are the rapid tests reliable and accurate?
Am I negative and I should not worry again after 100 days
Do I need further tests?
By the way am healthy and have good immune system that helps to catch soon in rapid tests , is that true?

Thanks very much and I appreciate you quick response

Hello

Thanks for the query

I shall answer your question one by one so that I do not miss any, I see that you are very scared about HIV.

1. 100 days is enough to catch the antibody, actually it is 92 days.
2. It is reliable and accurate however the gold standard for HIV is through the western blot technique
3. You need not worry unless you have had another sexual encounter
4. You do not need any further tests in regards to HIV.
5. Good immunity will lead to faster production of antibody so by now antibodies would have got produced

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
