Question : How bad are these values for liver enzymes?I have been diagnosed with fatty liver, how high would the enzymes have to be to cause hepatitis or cirrhosis? And how long would it likely take for the enzymes to reduce back to normal levels assuming alcohol is no longer consumed?

GOT/AST: 533 Units/L

GOT/ ALT: 338 Units/L

Thank you.

Detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Have seen the report attached by you,
Liver function test is deranged and level of markers are very high.
Chances of cirrhosis are less as ultrasound would have reflected that.
Viral markers should be done immediately with CT scan of complete abdomen to find out the cause of the elevation.
You have written that you have been diagnosed with fatty liver?
Which grade there are 4 grades of fatty liver.
Grade 1-2 are normal...
Suggestion- viral markers HAV,HBSAG,HCV,HEV(Complete hepatitis panel) and Ct scan of whole abdomen.
Follow up with reports.
Are you alcoholic?
Thanks.
