Question : for the last 2 months I have been getting a rather painful headache starting when I get out of be and getting worse then it starts to go away by early afternoon. it is painful to move my head. the pain is in the front kind of between my eyes and in the back toward the base of my skull. I have not been taking any pain medication.

Your headache is severe in the morning, settles by afternoon. Such kind of a headache can be due to

- Tension or stress headache

- Chronic sinusitis

- Eye disease like refractive error, astigmatism

- Anemia

- Mass lesion in the brain like tumor, vascular malformation

To differentiate between these, you need to consult a neurologist for history and examination. Few checkups are needed, like

- visual acuity and eye examination

- Hemoglobin level

- MRI brain

- X-ray of paranasal sinuses and examination of sinuses

This will confirm the diagnosis.
