Question : My 3 year old daughter keeps crossing her legs like she has to urinate. Someone once told me that it could be a sign of a UTI. She gets flushed in the face and feels warm sometimes. She is non verbal so I can't ask her what is wrong. How do I go about figuring out if she has a UTI or not? Is there a way to do that without taking her into the doctor?
Brief Answer:
Home test kits are available to look for UTI
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic
There are home urinary tract infection test strips available. It can be purchased over the counter.
The urine will also appear clouy/yellow, frequent urination, fever, crying while urinating are some of the symptoms of UTI
However, I strongly recommend taking your daughter to a pediatrician, as the home tests can give false negative results .UTI in young children require prompt treatment.
Hope I was able to help you
please let me know if you have any questions
