Brief Answer:
Can be soft tissue injury.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

A large bruise and swelling in the area of injury suggests a soft tissue injury.
If you can bear the weight on your leg and there is not much pain on walking then a bone injury is not likely. Icing can help in reducing the swelling and coloration but it can take 2 weeks to subside. In case the pain and swelling increases then do consult an orthopedist for an examination to rule out an infection or a large hematoma.

I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health.
