Question : I have lipoma under my eye lids. One is visible and the other one not yet.My ophthalmologIst advised me to consult an oculoplastic surgeon. Is it advisable to have them removed surgicaly ? Any known risk ?
Brief Answer:
Should be removed - no known risks.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history of lipoma under eyelids, advised to see Oculoplastic Surgeon.
If there are lumps/lipomas at such a place, they should be removed as they will grow over time and make surgery difficult and scar larger.
No known risk as this is a routine surgery for an Oculoplastic Surgeon and is well experienced in such area to give you the best results.
Please go ahead.
