Posted on Thu, 25 May 2017
Question: I had a tick bite 4 days ago. No infection is evident but today a slight itching and slight redning started to show mostly outside of the bandaid that was over the area of the bite, Is there a treatment I should be using?

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

There is no need of covering the bitten area with bandaid. Wash the area with warm water and apply paraffin oil or petroleum jelly on it. If the itching is bothersome then local calamine lotion and oral antihistamine like cetirizine can be used. No further treatment is required.

Most likely, the symptoms will subside if you haven't developed any fever, headache and malaise.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
