How Can Acne On The Upper Arms, Upper Back And Face Be Treated?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Jun 2017
Question: I have a bad case of acne on my upper arms (from elbow to shoulder), upper back and face (fore head and temples). The acne seems to be reoccurring in the same place again and again. I showed this to a doctor - he gave me a mild antibiotic but that has not worked. (I think it was erythromycin)
These pimples are causing darker skin marks that are taking a long time to go. The dermatologist suggested I use elovera imf moisturizer to remove the marks (i have been using this for more than a few months) but it has not been very helpful

Please advise what should I do to fix this problem

Brief Answer:
Management of acne

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to take capsule doxycycline 100 mg once daily at bedtime and apply adapelene 0.1 percent gel on the pimples on the face at night.
Apply benzoyl peroxide 10 percent cream on the pomples on the back, shoulders and chest twice daily.
For marks I would recommend you to apply a kojic acid cream like kojivit plus cream on the marks twice daily.
These are prescription drugs and should be used under the supervision of the doctor.
Also avoid cosmetics, avoid oiling of scalp, reduce the intake of sugary foods, avoid tight synthetic shirts and avoid picking of pimples.
