Question : Dear Dr, One of my cousin had a retina problem in 2007 for which he had taken some injection and eye drops. Now we have again consulted him with Dr, attached details for your reference. Kindly suggest whether he will need any treatment further and whether his vision will be alright.

Brief Answer:
Need more details

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I checked the prescription of ophthalmologist which had no good details about findings of eye examination. The rx said the vision could not get better further and was explained to patient. There seems a optic nerve issue as per prescription.

What was retinal problem in 2007? Can you upload those reports? Those can reveal details. Till we get those reports I cannot satisfactory comment on this issue. Please upload all reports and treatment done in 2007. I would like to know if there was any head injury, accidents happened before 2007. Any other medical issues? Is he diabetic to involve optic nerve?

Please come with more reports and details to my questions. Waiting to get full information.

Dear Dr,
He had Retinal infection in left eye in the year 2007 and it's treatment is over and currently there is no medicine or treatment is going on.

So won't be able to provide the required documents of left Eye infection which was 10 years ago happened .

Currently only he had vision problem in left eye and for this he does not wear any specs as it is blur.

Kindly suggest.

Brief Answer:
Retina specialist

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

With fewer details of the problem it is very difficult to give concrete opinion. As per the prescription of the doctor uploaded it looks to be a non resolving issue and can progress further. More likely with optic nerve involvement. You should better consult a retina surgeon for more details of the problem. If it is nerve involved there is little that can be done to improve the blurring vision.

The patient would always be told about infection whenever there is a problem but real details are needed. Any infection by micro organism or auto immune disease has to be known fully.
Online consultation is little tricky with such paucity of information and that too a second person and not patient.

Regards
