Question : I have arthritis i in both hips and knees. I sleep flat on my back however in the am my left knee and hip are painful. Is there something I can do?

Hello,

There is a possibility of osteoarthritis affecting your hip and knee.

What will definitely help is exercises for the hip and knee to strengthen the muscles around the joint? You need to religiously practice these exercise after training from a physiotherapist or Rehab expert.

Other medicines like glucosamine and diacerin can be taken.
Local measures like hot fomentation and diclofenac gel during an acute attack can give good relief or before your bed.

Medications including Tylenol should give relief.

Yes, that is what it is and as I said you need to exercise and take help from physio and rehab.

X-rays of the hip and knee would help to come to know the extent of damage to the joints.

The medication remains the same, in case of excess pain NSAIDs may help.
