Question : Hi, my son is 3.5 years old. He had viral infection, fever and cough since last 5 days. Now since last two days though fever is not there but he is still suffering from dry cough and running nose.
I am staying in XXXXXXX Can you pls suggest suitable medicine or cough syrup. Thanks.

Thanks for writing to us.
From your description it looks like your child has post viral.cough which can last for a week too.
No aggressive treatment is required
I usually prescribe antihistamines and ambroxol syrup ( like ambrolite s ) 2ml thrice daily for such kids in my clinic.
If cough worsens consult your doctor again.
