Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Given that he has diabetes, I recommend that he go in to be seen, either at an urgent care clinic if you have one near you that is still open, or to the ER.

The reason I am recommending this is because while it could be gout, it could also be an infection in the joint, so it would be best to be examined.

When he goes in to be seen, request specifically to make sure that he be seen by a doctor and not by a physician's assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP).

In addition to examining his elbow, it would be wise to check his blood sugar (which they can do at the clinic or ER) too to make sure it is not elevated as result of the stress of pain or from infection.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
