Question : Hi Doctor,
my colleague 35 years of age recently had severe stomach ache after which he got ultrasound done... which is indicating stones in gall bladder.. though he dont have pain now but does it require surgery to operate or can be treated with medicine to avoid reoccurrence in future.

There can be recurrent attacks.
Small stones can pass to bile ducts and cause obstructive jaundice or pancreatitis which are dangerous disease.

There are no sure-shot medications that can remove the gallstones hence surgery is a must.
