How Can Gastric Trouble And Slight Recurrent Abdominal Pain Mainly To The Right Be Managed?

default
Posted on Tue, 23 Apr 2024
Question: have been having slight abdominal pain intermetianly mainly on the right side. I have been gassy also. it has been going on for 9 days. I have been looking up certain causes and I'm worried it could be an aortic aneurysm. Is this possible? If so what are the symptoms? I have been to GP last week and and she advised that my appendix was fine and urine test was clear. Also my last CBC blood tests which were done 3 weeks ago were normal. Can you please advise?

Brief Answer:
Need ultrasound abdomen and liver functions

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it is likely to be aortic aneurysm. Abdominal causes should be ruled out preferably with an ultrasound abdomen and liver functions test as well as serum amylase. If unremarkable Xray abdomen erect may also be needed. If normal can be simply due to gaseous distension or acidity.

Using Motility agents like domperidone or itapride before meals for better gut movement and antacids like omperazole may also be used. Avoiding heavy, greasy meals should be ensured, and junk food as well fizzy drinks should be avoided.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope this has answered your query. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. Regards

Brief Answer:
It's unlikely still abdominal ultrasound with Doppler will rule it out

Detailed Answer:
Hi! It's highly unlikely given the history however abdominal ultrasound with Doppler will rule it out as we had discussed earlier. Regards
