Question : I have been diagnosed with piles.My Doctot prescribed me Thank od forte tablets.I have taken it for 21 days. However, there is no much improvement. Kindly suggest something effective.

Hi,

For hemorrhoids, you can apply "H ointment" on the anus twice daily for 2 weeks. If you are having constipation, have a high fiber diet and you can take Syp. Dulcolax 10 ml after dinner in the night as and when required. Avoid spicy and oily food. Eat lots of curds and buttermilk. Sitz bath also helps relieve pain. You can do it twice daily for 20 mins.

If it still persists then you may have to get operated.

Hi,

Yes, you can take fiber supplements such as Metamucil, daily. Food is mainly having lots of fresh fruits and vegetable. Include daily 5 varieties of fruits such as prunes, banana, apple etc. Drink lots of water. Eating lots of greens like 2 bunches of spinach daily as curry will help.

Yes, you can continue Thank OD forte tablets.

Surgery will definitely help but it can reoccur if proper diet and lifestyle modification are not followed. The chances of recurrence are less.
