Brief Answer:
Granular Pharyngitis.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

1. The area that you have marked on the right posterior pharyngeal wall appears to be lymphoid tissue giving a 'cobblestone' appearance known as Granular Pharyngitis.

2. This is chronically inflamed lymphoid (tonsil-like) tissue normally present and distributed throughout the oral cavity and throat.

3. There are larger lymphoid follicles visible further down.

4. This does not appear to be cancer. A simple biopsy can confirm this if the area does not settle down with routine medication. This area is also easily visible for regular follow up and observation.

5. This seems to be due to a Post Nasal Drip (PND).

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Brief Answer:
This does not appear to be cancer.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

1. This does not appear to be cancer.

2. If this has been there for many years, it cannot be cancer.

3. A biopsy will always help identify the type of tissue and chronic inflammation. The report will help treat this condition effectively.

I hope that I have answered your query.
