Question : I am a healthy, active 66 year old woman. Since Feb I have been having intermittently ear pain in my left ears. This is a dull, somewhat sharp pain that last maybe a second. Not every day, but lately more so. It usually happens when I sleep on my left side. I am not overly concerned, but it is annoying. Thank you.

As per your symptoms it's advisable to rule out infection of the middle ear cavity.

For this it's advisable to get an otoscopic examination preferably performed by an expert ENT specialist.

Further management if any is largely based on otoscopic examination findings.
