Question : my husband had a skin cancer removed from his neck. they didn't get is all so they went back and removed more. in the process they cut a nerve in his neck and he has been in pain since. the prescribe pain pills that don't work. now he has an apt with a dermatoligst? for what?
Brief Answer:
Most probably nerve entrapment
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If the nerve is cut there would not be any pain at all.
Hence the most probable reason would be entrapment of some sensory nerve in the scar that causes such pain.
It may be possible that the Dermatologist can help by trying to re-evaluate the area and finding the proper solution since the pain medications are not working.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
