Question : i have rectal bleeding. There isn't much pain. I do have hemorrhoids and a possible anal fissures. It's been going on for about a week. I'm on blood thinners. How long til it stops and how to i get it to stop

Get your PT and INR checked in the nearest lab.

Hello,

As you are on a blood thinner I would suggest you get you-
PT (prothrombin time) and INR tested.

If PT and INR are raised then the dose of thinner has to be reduced or thinner would be stopped till INR returns back to normal (1-2 i.u).

If INR is raised then no amount of medication could reduce bleeding.

Well which blood thinner are you on and why?

I had DVT and PE in november. I am on Xarelto.

Xarelto is a substitute for warfarin. Suggestion gets your PT and INR checked up.
Most likely your INR is high. As per standard text-

Rivaroxaban is associated with lower rates of serious and fatal bleeding events than warfarin though rivaroxaban is associated with higher rates of bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.

Follow up with reports of PT and INR.
