Topical medicines do
not usually affect baby
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Did you mean Lobate-GM cream? It contains a strong steroid Clobetasol. It is better to use milder steroids like hydrocortisone during pregnancy. Also, it contains 3 ingredients - Clobetasol, miconazole and neomycin. It is better to use a formulation that has single ingredient and meant for specific purpose. For example if you have fungal infection of skin then miconazole alone can be used.
A cream applied on skin usually does not affect baby. A medicine affects baby only if it gets absorbed into blood circulation and then it crosses placenta and into baby.
To ensure minimal side effects you can use it only when really needed or for short duration.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
