Brief Answer:
can be diverticulitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query,

I've gone through all your details and appreciate your concern.

Most likely, the problem he is having is divericulitis. acute phase of diverticulitis needs antibiotic therapy but once the acute phase settles down Severe and drastic life style modificatory changes have to be followed by patient for many months to avoid recurrent attacks.
Diverticulitis occurs when the bulging sacs that appear in the lining of your large intestine, or colon, get acutely infected or inflamed.
I would suggest him to go to nearest Emergency room and get an ultrasound abdomen done.

Once confirmed antibiotic therapy could be started.

Thanks
