How Can Severe Knee Pain Along With Dizziness And Drowsiness Be Treated?

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Sep 2017
Question: My wife got up today with severe pain in both her knees and is unable to leave the bed. However, she has had pain in her knees earlier times too. But this time its unbearable. Also she is feeling dizziness and drowsiness. She was on complete fasting without water/food on 24th Aug. Are these symtoms of gas formation? We just gave her Ocid Qrs empty stomach now. Pls advise. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
It could be Syncope. Visit ER ASAP.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
Acute severe knee pain Bilateral is a very uncommon entity without local swelling in the knees. In view of her dizziness and drowsiness, I suspect she might be having a syncope attack or some other problem related to brain / cervical spine.
I suggest take her to emergency ASAP.
Abdominal gas is very unlikely to cause this problem.
Thanx for the question.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
