How Can Severe Pain During Urination Be Managed?

Prostate enlargement, calculus or other issues. Visit ER urgently.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
* As per my surgical experience, the inability of urination with pain indicates acute retention of urine in the bladder.
There can be underlying prostate enlargement, calculus in the urinary system or other issues.
* My recommendations at present
- Immediately consult at ER and get urine through catheter after examination by a surgeon.
- Pain relief with analgesic tablet as aleve or tylenol till you reach the ER.
- Discuss the need of diagnostic ultrasound examination of abdomen, pelvis with prostate size for further management guidelines with your doctor.
Wish you fine recovery. Would like to hear from you later on.
