Question : my mother has severe pain in both of her sides, back and front. she is 92 years old and recently was treated for urinary tract infection. had severe constipation but both of those ailments seem to be behind her.
Brief Answer:
Possible infection or stone. Require ultrasound abdominal scan
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Acute onset of severe pain in the abdomen can be due to kidney or gall bladder stones. Likewise in the view of past history of urinary tract infection, possibility of peritonitis should also be considered.
It's important to consider ultrasound abdominal scan at the earliest to determine further course of action.
Meanwhile a small dose of analgesic can be considered for pain relief.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications and tests to evaluate her condition in detail.
